IBDase
Mucosal protease and their inhibitors in inflammatory bowel disease: From etiopathogenetic insight to innovative therapy
The IBDase project is collaborating with a number of
stakeholders as well as IBD cohorts. Moreover, the
Instituto Superiore di Sanità acts as an associate
member of the consortium, collaborating closely with
partner UTV.
Scientific advisors provide guidance on the scientific direction of IBDase and link the project to the international IBD scientific community:
Derek Jewell, University of Oxford (UK) provides advice on genetic association studies.
Christopher Overall, University of British Columbia (Canada) is an expert on degradomics and protease research on the genome level.
George Davey-Smith, Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol (UK) advices on biostatistics and genetic epidemiology.
Additionally, IBDase established links to several ongoing EU-project consortia, amongst others EUCOMM, a FP6 project dedicated to the provision of knockout mice.
Of special importance in terms of Dissemination and Exploitation are stakeholder ECCO (European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation) and the Novartis Protease Platform, respectively.
Additional to the IBD cohort of consortium member K.U.Leuven, four cohorts cooperate with IBDase after all by providing clinical data and samples:
the Swiss IBD cohort (SIBDCS),
the Initiative for Crohn’s and Colitic (ICC) cohort of the Netherlands,
the Hungarian IBD cohort and
the Oxford-Exeter IBD cohort.
